About Future of Talent Institute
Future of Talent Institute is a think tank and membership-driven educational & networking endeavor that has been examining the talent world since 2005. We research the trends, events, and ideas that are changing human resources, talent management, recruiting, learning, work and the work environment. We have an active blog site and we encourage guest bloggers. Members have access to white papers, podcasts, presentations, and the output of our previous Retreats. Day 1
New Performance Management

The traditional once or twice a year performance review is being eliminated. New processes are being put into place that are more useful and more acceptable to new employees. We will talk about what is changing and why it is changing and give examples of new approaches.

What is AI (Artificial Intelligence) and How It will Impact HR
AI (Artificial Intelligence)  is talked about endlessly but very few people know what it is or how it works. This will explain AI (Artificial Intelligence) and how it is being used in HR. We will discuss machine learning, big data, and more. And, we will discuss the applications available for HR.

Why Blockchain May Change the Talent Market
Do you ever wonder how many hours are spent in verifying the credentials of candidates – many of whom have already been employed and have previously been vetted? While no one has an accurate figure, hundreds – even thousands – of hours per year are wasted in firms with even moderate hiring volume. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were a way to eliminate the need for constant re-verification? Day 2
HR as a Platform, Rather Than an Internal Service

HR has been an internal function with numerous services. New HR organizations are becoming highly automated and using outside providers for many services. Employees and managers can go directly to these external provides and tools without consulting internal HR.  HR and HR  skills are changing.

Redesigning Jobs – Reskilling the Workforce
Traditional jobs are being automated or changed by technologies such as A.I.  But new jobs are being created. We will discuss what is happening and why and explore some for new jobs and skills that are taking over.

Today: A contact centre agent answers customer calls and messages, handling both minor and major issues.
Tomorrow: Virtual agents and automation take care of simple queries and issues, allowing the human workforce to manage relationship portfolios and deal with exceptions and major issues involving complexity and sensitivity.

Learning as a Platform- New Ways of Developing the Workforce

In 1998, he founded and is the President of Global Learning Resources, Inc. which focuses on helping organizations architect long lasting and flexible talent strategies.

Kevin has been a research affiliate at the Institute for the Future and his consulting practices takes him all over the globe where he sees, firsthand how the impact of economics, education, diversity, and age affects talent and how it is valued and appreciated. He is the author of hundreds of articles on talent management, career development, recruiting, human capital, leadership and on corporate universities and learning strategies. He works in a wide variety of countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, China, Thailand, The Netherlands, Canada, Chile, and Italy.

His latest book is entitled The Corporate University Workbook: Launching the 21st Century Learning Organization.  He has contributed chapters to several additional books including, recently, a chapter on leadership and recruiting in “On Staffing: Advice and Perspectives for HR Leaders.” He is currently writing a book on the changing nature of work and new requirements for talent in the 21st century. He has served as adjunct faculty at the University of San Francisco and on the business faculty at San Francisco State University.
